UPDATE 2/25/10: At the request of several members, the Treasure Hunting section of the forum has been closed to non members. Again, signing up and participating in the site is free and easy! JUST CLICK HERE! Our members provide a ton of info to help folks out with prospecting and treasure hunting and in return, all they ask is that you participate! The rest of the forum is still open to public view, but only members can post! The site is optimized to run best in Mozilla's Firefox (click here to download a copy) and it does run in Internet Explorer but will sometimes get errors and the site doesn't look as clean in IE.
I have also added a Colorado Forum to the Treasure Legends section of the forum. More states and countries will be added as stories are posted pertaining to those regions.
UPDATE 2/14/10: I have added a section to the glossary for treasure signs, symbols and their meanings. This is basically a reference guide and a copy of what is in the forum for the same topic. Since I have done this, the glossary is now a members only section of the site. If you would like access to this and any other members only areas, sign up, it's free and painless and only takes a minute or less.
UPDATE2/13/10: Added a 2 new sections to the Treasure section of the forum that are for members only - Signs & Symbols Only! and Monuments & Markers Only! These sections are for the discussion and education of the various signs and symbols and monuments that we will see out in the field or on maps. Why is it for members only? Because I feel that you should be a participating member of the forum to be able to access that kind of info!
Hehehehe, so, people are wondering what is happening to the site, so many changes so fast! Well, I am working very hard behind the scenes to make this the best damn place on the web for folks that are interested in Treasure Hunting, Prospecting and pretty much anything Outdoorsy!
Now on to the number one question my e-mail box has been getting as of late, where did the videos section go? Well, it is still around, but, it has been transferred to the members Only Lounge area which registered members can access via the main menu under "The Lounge". Why did I do that you ask? The video section of the site was getting hit by thousands of people a day that are not members of the site and I felt that it was unfair for those of you that take the minute that it takes to register for a free membership and participate in the site to have to suffer from slower speeds due to unregistered users using up all the bandwidth. So, videos are now in the Lounge area for registered members to enjoy and share.
I am considering pulling the chat section of the site as well. When you enter the lounge or the forum you may have noticed a chat bar along the bottom of the page, I think that I may just switch to using that for chats since it gives members the ability to go to a chat room, vreate a new one, or have one on one chats with people in their friends list.
I am going to be adding a cookbook application to the site pretty soon as well so that you can share some of your favorite recipes for while you are out in the great outdoors with each other or heck, just any recipe will do if you want!
There is now a banner exchange on the main menu. You can grab our banner and add yours to the exchange page. I added this because no one seems to want to use add to the web links section and it just may be because they want to add a banner, so, have at it!
Thats about all I have for now. Most of the new additions have been to the members lounge, heck, it's like a whole second site in there, hope you like it. Folks, this page is set up for you, so that you can interact in various ways, make new friends, learn something new and teach others a little of what you know too! You just got to use it. We are as friendly as we can be in here and I will do my best to make sure things stay that way, so come on in and stay awhile, were sure glad your here!
